The Fierce Student Recruitment Market

Notwithstanding the fact that tuition fees have only just tripled for all students going to university now, the fact still remains that the recruitment market for newly-graduated students is more fierce now than ever. The simple fact of the matter is that there are far less jobs out there for graduates now and this is definitely down to the fact that the current day economy has seen better days.

This means that students face such a nightmare!; not only do they need to worry about issues such as PV leaseback and the paying back of their fees, but they also need to ensure that they are as competitive as possible to beat hundreds of other graduate applicants to get a job at the end of the day.

There are ways of attempting to secure a job when you graduate, but it certainly involves keeping your eye on the ball, at all times, and working as hard as you can when at university.

First of all, it is always a good idea to introduce yourself to future potential employers when you are in your second year of study. Let them know how keen you are to work with them; flatter them by undertaking research of their company and elaborate on facts and statistics that impress you the most.

Advise the future employer of your forecasted honours classification - if you are expected to achieve a 2.1 or first class honours, this will always mean that you shine out and impress the employer. Prove that you are keen and let them know what a huge asset you will be to their company. The student employment market is so fierce now, you have to beat the rest of your competitors and go in for the kill!
